Iñigo Aldama

I design and run programmatic advertising platforms that decide in milliseconds.

Backend architect. 20+ years of PHP, the last 13 inside AdTech: RTB bidders, ad servers and, today, Tappx's SSP.

What I doI move between architecture and the terminal: I design, code, deploy and answer when something breaks at 3 a.m.

Real-time bidding

OpenRTB, auction logic, SSP/DSP integrations, identity (cookies, universal IDs) and consent (GDPR/TCF).

Performance and cost

Async PHP (Swoole) in production, profiling, Redis and Aerospike as hot memory, Kafka and ClickHouse for events. I measure cost per request and bring it down.

Operations

Multi-region GCP, weighted progressive rollouts, canaries, A/B tests against the live system and hot deployments with zero downtime.

Usual stack:

Mostly PHP; I've used Node, Go and Python when the problem called for it. What scales isn't the language, it's the system design and how you use memory, queues and data.

Career

Education: Computer Engineering studies, University of the Basque Country (1996–2001).

ProjectsWhat I build outside work says as much as what I build inside, and you can actually see it.
